WEEK IN REVIEW - HAMMOND
Hammond, Indiana—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following:
Sheila Chandler, 51, of Schererville, Indiana, pled guilty before Senior Judge Rudy Lozano to counts one through nine of an indictment charging her with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and wire fraud; and counts three and four of a second indictment charging her with wire fraud. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Jill Trumbull-Harris and Gary Bell .
Tynon Thompson, 31, of Chicago, Illinois, pled guilty before Senior Judge Rudy Lozano to count one of a superseding indictment charging him with interstate kidnaping. Sentencing has been set for 6/24/11. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Nozick.
Tracy Butler, 43, of Gary, Indiana, pled guilty before Senior Judge Rudy Lozano to counts one and three of an indictment charging her with wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Gary Bell.
The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
